Our international insurance group is fully integrated, consisting of lawyers from each of our offices worldwide. We advise on all aspects of insurance and reinsurance law and have a leading market position in this field.

Our experience includes advising on business establishment, regulation, regulatory capital, product development, distribution, strategic investment, business expansion, reorganisation and divestment, outsourcing, data and technology, claims, run-off and insolvency.

The diverse range of work which we are involved in encompasses some of the most complex disputes and is often high profile and innovative, involving new points of law. Our blend of specialist skills and experience has resulted in a dynamic and industry focused team committed to the highest standards of client service.

We have recently expanded our practice in Asia Pacific where we combine in-depth industry knowledge with an understanding of the legal and regulatory regimes underpinning retail insurance products (including structured products and mutual and linked funds) and the distribution of such products including cross-border sales and centralisation of back-office functions.

We also have extensive expertise in advising on strategic investment in the region whether through a minority equity stake, joint venture, or majority interest and possess extensive experience of managing and executing insurance transactions and co-ordinating regulatory advice across various jurisdictions in the region (both within and outside the context of M&A transactions).

Our extensive experience advising on transactions covers most of the countries in the region including China, Australia, Indonesia, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines and South Korea.
