W.H. (Bill) Tuer
Senior Partner
Bill Tuer has acted for domestic and international lenders in respect of syndicated loan transactions in the areas of oil and gas, aircraft finance, real estate, manufacturing and general corporate lending. He also acts for borrowers in structuring and negotiating their commercial borrowings and project financings.
In the commercial area, he has represented a number of Alberta-based companies in various industry sectors that have operations in Canada and overseas. In this capacity Mr. Tuer acts as counsel on general corporate matters as well as providing advice, preparing documentation and negotiating.
He also acts on behalf of certain international clients in respect of their Canadian and international activities and has been involved in a number of acquisitions, divestitures, financings and joint ventures in Canada and abroad in the areas of oil and gas, petro-chemicals, mining, electricity and manufacturing.
Mr. Tuer became a partner of Macleod Dixon (one of the predecessor firms of Norton Rose Canada) in 1986, was appointed managing partner of that firm in 2000 and in 2012 became chief integration partner of Norton Rose Canada. He is currently a member of Norton Rose Group’s executive committee and Norton Rose Canada’s management committee.
In 1995, during his sabbatical year, Mr. Tuer participated in an executive exchange program with Allens Arthur Robinson, a major Asian/Pacific law firm with head offices in Sydney, Australia. He also spent time in Tokyo in the legal department of Mitsui & Co., a major Japanese multinational corporation.

- Mitsui & Co. in respect of its participation in Alberta & Orient Glycol, a petrochemical joint venture
