NavigatoR for clients
We have made NavigatoR – our award winning know-how search system – available to clients, giving them access to useful materials beyond the usual briefings and other publications. Clients will be able to search materials available on our website which we have developed in our work with them, including, for example, transaction bibles and Practice notes.
ecomply
ecomply is our comprehensive online legal compliance training tool for businesses. It has been designed to assist our clients to establish and implement an effective and readily accessible legal compliance training program for management and employees. ecomply is interactive and user-friendly. The ecomply training content can be customised to target specific legal risk areas and operational requirements. The ecomply program can also be tailored to meet training and technical requirements.
N-sure
N-sure is a complete OHS audit tool that provides a solution to the legal compliance of officers under new Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws in Australia.
N-sure is designed to take the guesswork out of company Work Health and Safety compliance by providing a system that allows for easy identification of requirements and documentation and control of corrective action measures to demonstrate that processes are in place for discharging this aspect of due diligence obligation.
Alert services
Our alert services provide up to the minute information on legal developments across a series of markets and sectors.
Accessible via the web, this suite of products is designed for in-house counsel, compliance departments and company secretaries at financial institutions and other organisations to help keep up to date and manage risk in their key markets and jurisdictions. These services have been developed by our in-house experts in response to client demand.
The current portfolio of products comprises:
- Asset Finance Alerts - focuses on developments in law relevant to the Basel 2 treatment of asset-secured financings
- Credit Risk Mitigant Alerts - focuses on changes in law which may affect the treatment of certain credit risk mitigation arrangements in connection with a loan portfolio
- Commercial Real Estate Alerts - focuses on changes in law affecting the effectiveness or enforceability of security arrangements over commercial real estate
- Mining Finance Alerts - focuses on three key areas of law for mining finance lenders: state pre-emption rights, repatriation of funds and taking security over mining licences
Online learning
We are working with several clients to develop online training tailored to the needs of their business and the specific issues they face. For example, we have developed competition compliance training and ethics training for their business staff and have also devised a basic contract law programme aimed at business/sales teams.
Automated documents for clients
We use automated documents internally to support efficiency and to enable our people to focus on the more complex aspects of their work. We have also made automated documents available to clients, providing them with access to a simple questionnaire, which they can complete to produce first drafts of documents. We can review these for them to provide further refinement or to account for more complex situations or they can use the document as an instruction to us.
deal maNageR
deal maNageR is our transaction scoping tool enabling us to manage client work efficiently. We use it to break down transactions into component parts focusing on the tasks which need to be completed, agreeing who has responsibility for each, how long each will take and what the likely cost will be.
risk maNageR
We have a number of riskmaNageR tools (for due diligence, principles-based regulation and outsourcing). These focus on helping our clients identify the key issues, which may affect them from both a transactional and regulatory risk perspective, and assess these against their overall appetite for risk.
The tool ranks the seriousness of each risk against the probability of the risk occurring so that our clients can judge which are the greatest risks to them. We provide recommendations on how those risks can be addressed.
Deal rooms
dealSmart is our Internet-based Deal Room, giving clients direct access to documents as they are drafted or received. dealSmart provides better security than email or fax as access is password protected and is also protected by our firewall.
Legal updates
Our legal updates (specialist legal publications, web casts and seminars) focus on legal and regulatory developments across the range of our legal specialisations, industry sectors and jurisdictions. There is a comprehensive range of materials available on our website, including legal updaters on pensions, insurance, financial services, construction and infrastructure and employment.
Knowledge sharing with clients
We are able to offer clients access to specialist research and business resources, including our library information service and our company information and secretarial services. In addition we feed know-how directly to some of our clients’ intranets.
