Competition and regulatory
We regularly advise on all aspects of antitrust, competition and regulation in the air transport industry. Our understanding of commercial operations and our depth of knowledge of regulatory and competition trends allow us to assist airlines, airports, agents, forwarders and integrators in using legal and regulatory challenges to their commercial benefit.
We advise on optimal structures for alliances, mergers, joint ventures, joint purchasing groups, and other arrangements at different levels of the air transport trade. We assist our clients in the multi-jurisdictional regulatory processes that are required to get these deals through, including with competition and civil aviation authorities. We are also increasingly involved in major international aeropolitical and policy issues.
With the recent focus of competition authorities in the industry, we advise and represent a number of market players in their defence of investigations and competition litigation. We have gained significant experience in designing corporate compliance programmes that minimize competition and regulatory risks.
We are consistently involved with cases heard before a wide variety of authorities including the European Courts and the European Commission, as well as national competition and aviation committees in Europe and in Asia.
“It is one of the few firms that successfully combines regulatory, insurance and asset finance practice.” Chambers and Partners UK, 2008
